The RDCA require that all players be under the specified age on the
1st September 2008
to play under that specific age group. Some
exceptions for children with disabilities are allowed. Females can
play 2 years under their age group if they wish.
Training takes place on Wednesdays,
between 4:30pm and 6:00pm prior to daylight saving
starting,
and
5:00pm - 6:30pm after daylight saving starts (refer preseason
details below).
Training includes a variety of drills to improve skills. While nets
are used, considerable
emphasis is put on fielding and technique
development. Those players seeking extra
development are encouraged
to attend senior training on Thursday nights where one on one
mentoring is available from our senior playing group.
Games are played on Saturday mornings and consist of mainly
two day
games played
over two weekends.
Players are expected to be at the
home or away ground by
8:00am for a 8.25am start with a finish around
11:30am (12 Midday at the latest).
Cricket whites must
be worn. A club
playing top is available for purchase.
Each team has an allocated coach and team manager and in some cases
scorer.
Parents are encouraged to help fill these match day roles.
Each week morning tea is provided for the team by a different team member’s
family
which can
consist sandwiches, fruit, biscuits etc.
