Bulldogs Have-A-Game Program
Boys and Girls

Age Guideline 7-9 years old*.

This program is for children who have learnt the basics and are ready for ‘lite’ competition
with a soft ball. We have a modified game environment
where teams can bowl and bat using cones where necessary.

This is an important step towards Under 10 cricket where bowling the ball ‘On the pitch’
becomes important. These sessions are also used to start skill development on an
individual basis where we will look at individual bowling styles and simple stroke play
such as a forward defensive shot, a drive, or a pull shot for example.

We find that as children develop competence they often seek a game situation.
At this stage we are also drawing a distinction between the Milo program and more
advanced junior cricketers. A year 4 child often wants a clear separation from the younger
preppies learning the basics. A different shirt and approach provides for these needs.

All sessions are conducted at Cheong Park.

There is plenty of parking overlooking the oval
and a grassy bank to sit on and watch your children have fun.

Parents who want to be involved are encouraged to be a part of the evenings activities.
