Coach the Coach Night Wrap
Added: 22nd July 2010.
6 junior coaches spent a chilly Monday evening learning some of the finer points of the game
from well known district cricketer Darren Roe. Darren is the senior North Ringwood coach and
has an interest at South Croydon where his children play Under 10 and Milo.

The club is very keen to equip all our volunteers with the very best knowledge which we can
pass onto our junior players. Colin Reyment, Jonah Veith, Fletcher Heyward, Simon Moore,
, Steve Hickman, and Luke Henderson received a crash course in Batting, bowling, and Fielding,
and learnt along the way why Shane Watson is now hoisting the ball over Mid wicket and
scoring so effectively in the shorter forms of the game.

The volunteer spirit is alive and well at
South and thanks to Darren for volunteering his time in the time honoured spirit of the game.

Junior Coaches Announced
Added: 21st June 2010.
The club is pleased to announce that Michael Cook, Jonah Veith, and Fletcher Heyward have been appointed to the clubs junior coaching
panel. All three players are recent Juniors who are keen to give
something back to the club and build on their coaching experience.

We are also pleased to announce that Box Hill Premier Cricket
Player Bronte Stray will be continuing in her role as U14 Girls coach.

If you are a senior cricketer who wants to give something back to
the club or a parent who wants to contribute to junior cricket the
club will give you the coaching expertise you need. We fund all our coaches through Cricket Victoria accredited training.

Getting involved really does improve your connection with the club
and your children. Give it a go!

What's a Baggy Blue
Added: 26th May 2010.

A baggy blue is awarded for an outstanding performance in a
Junior game. It may be a combination of wickets, runs, run outs,
or catches, or a truly great batting or bowling performance. We don't
give them out for every retirement or 3 wicket haul as sometimes
the standard of the game does not merit an award. Potential
awardees are identified by either coach or team manager and put
forward to two other independent coaches at the club for consideration.
Presentation of the baggy blue is made by the senior club coach at
Match reports at Cheong on a Saturday evening in front
of the entire senior playing group.
