Hi All,
Firstly, I would like to display my thanks to the South Croydon CC
committee for allowing
me the opportunity to lead the club in what I believe will be an
extremely exciting stage
in the clubs history. The off-field support I have been given thus
far has been second to none,
and I am sure that this will be transferred into many positive
on-field performances this year.
I played my junior cricket at South Ringwood CC, and then my final
year of under 16’s at
Ringwood Junior CC. As senior cricketers we can sometimes get to
caught up in the
technical and tactical side of the game, I was always taught at a
junior level to play for fun,
fitness and friendship…three traits that I believe are still
imperative for any senior cricketer.
My senior cricket has firstly been played at Ringwood CC, where I
had the opportunity to be
taught by some wonderful coaches and extremely talented players.
Being part of the
professional environment that district cricket has become was
something I really enjoyed,
and amongst improving the technical side of my game, I learnt the
value of hard work on the
training track. From Ringwood, I also played a season at Boronia CC
in the ECA,
where I had the opportunity to still play a high standard of
cricket, with a fantastic group of blokes.
I am extremely excited about the prospect of the season ahead. I was
immediately drawn
to the wonderful culture that surrounds the South Croydon CC, and
believe that with the
continuing development in the talent within the playing group,
the 2009/2010 season will be extremely exciting and rewarding for
all involved.
GO DOGGIES!
Josh Stewart
