Calling All Female Cricketers 2nd November 2008.

If you are a girl who wants to learn and play cricket we want to hear from you as
soon as possible so we can develop a training program to get you
up to match play standard for next season.

We will have spaces for any girl, Under 18 on September 1 2009.
Under 16’s can play in the RDCA Under 14 competition and
Under 18’s can play in the Under 16 competition.

In the first instance you may want to come down and train with our Girls squad
and perhaps watch them play to get a feel for the standard required.

Mastering the skills of the game can take time so we want to help fast-track your
development and get you playing competitively as soon as possible by starting
your pre-season 'in season.'

Our girls team is currently in the RDCA Under 14 second grade and are
competing very successfully with the boys so you can be confident there are
no barriers to you playing the sport you love.

We look forward to meeting you.

Girls Cricket Pathways.

South Croydon Cricket Club is committed to a pathway for Girls in cricket.

Our experience is that girls of any ability will find a suitable boys team up to the age
of 12 to play in. At 14 or above girls with above average ability may be able to
continue in the under 16 and 18 boys competitions.

South Croydon have an all Girls team playing at Under 14 level 3 in the RDCA.

This team allows girls under 16 on the 1st September to play due to the RDCA rule
allowing girls to play 2 years under their age. This team plays in the normal cricket
competition against boys teams.

We are also part of the local cricket pathway for Girls to Premier Grade Cricket with
close links to Cricket Victoria’s regional development officer Rob Elliott.

Our girl’s team is supported by Dianne Day who is a female Cricket Victoria
Development Officer for the Outer East and coach of the Victorian Under 15 Girls team.

Two current South Croydon coached players have represented Victoria in the
National Girls championships over the past 3 years and continue to represent
South Croydon at both a junior and senior level.
